There’s never a bad time to visit Mexico’s capital, as its high altitude means daytime temperatures remain pleasant and mild no matter the month. The dry season typically begins in November and lasts until April or May. No matter the season, a range of cultural, musical and sporting events keep the city vibrant and lively all year long.

Practically on the doorstep of our hotel is the Angel of Independence, one of the capital’s most recognizable landmarks. A short stroll along tree-lined Paseo de la Reforma takes you to Chapultepec Park, a sacred Aztec site and home of Chapultepec Castle. The historic city center and its museums and massive Zócalo are also within walking distance.

When staying at Sofitel Mexico City Reforma, you have front-row seats to this parade. It is held on 2 November, starting at Estela de Luz and passing by The Angel of Independence. Interestingly, this popular event did not exist until after the James Bond film Spectre (2015), whose opening sequence was a fictional Día de los Muertos parade.
