Our Ia Ora Diving center is the only one operating on the east coast of Moorea, guaranteeing peaceful and preserved dive sites. We offer daily dives suited to every level, from beginners to experienced divers: drift dives in the lagoon, ocean explorations, discovery dives from age 8, private boat excursions and full PADI training and certification programs.
Mornings are dedicated to the drop-offs, passes and reefs of the east coast, for explorations rich in emotion; afternoons take place in the Sofitel's peaceful lagoon, the ideal setting for first dives and training sessions.
Each immersion reveals remarkable biodiversity, with tropical fish, corals, eagle rays, reef sharks and sea turtles evolving in a completely safe environment.
PADI and French Diving Training and Certifications
Our center offers comprehensive PADI training recognized internationally, as well as FFESSM/CMAS certifications (French Federation). We are one of the few PADI 5-Star Dive Resorts in French Polynesia.
Progress at your own pace with our certified instructors, from a first Discover Scuba Diving experience to Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver certifications, all the way to Divemaster, in an ideal setting that combines learning and pleasure.
Discover Freediving with Ia Ora Diving
Beyond scuba diving, Ia Ora Diving invites you to discover the ocean through freediving, a quieter, more intimate approach to Moorea's underwater world, on a single breath.
Guided by experienced instructors, beginners can try a freediving discovery session, combining a short theory briefing, breathing and relaxation exercises, and a first guided immersion in the calm waters of the lagoon.
For those who want to go further, our PADI freediving courses build on these fundamentals with structured training in breathing, relaxation and dynamic apnea, leading up to open-water freediving experiences for confirmed freedivers.
We also offer themed outings, including sunset, night, full moon and marine-life discovery sessions, as well as private formats for a more exclusive and personalized experience.
Experience an Unforgettable Encounter with Humpback Whales
From August to November, experience one of the most extraordinary adventures: encountering humpback whales in the warm waters of Moorea.
These ocean giants come to reproduce and give birth in Polynesian waters, offering absolutely magical moments in one of the best whale-watching spots in the Pacific. Dolphins, present year-round, often join this natural spectacle.
