  • Where Flavour Meets Responsibility

    Our hotel prioritizes responsible choices in our culinary offer and purchasing practices to promote sustainable dining that combines pleasure, quality, and respect for the environment.

    We offer our guests organic, eco-labelled, fair-trade, and locally sourced products. Committed to more responsible cuisine, our Chef ensures that more than 30% of the restaurant’s dishes are vegetarian or vegan. Our banquet offer can also be provided as 100% vegetarian or vegan upon request.

    In our aromatic garden, our executive chef harvests fresh aromatic herbs daily to enhance his dishes at the 1040 restaurant. In spring, beehives are also installed to support biodiversity and the production of local honey.

    We also implement several concrete actions to reduce food waste: part of the breakfast surplus is redistributed via the Too Good To Go app. 

  • Where Innovation Meets Responsibility

    At Sofitel Brussels Europe, we implement concrete solutions to reduce our environmental impact.
    Our energy and water consumption is monitored monthly, and we have introduced several initiatives to reduce it: pressure reducers, rainwater collection and reuse, and the replacement of 95 % of lighting with low-energy LEDs.

    Since 2023, a cogeneration system has been producing heating, hot water, and self-consumed electricity to optimize our energy efficiency.

    We also focus on waste reduction and sorting, replacing disposable toiletries with refillable products and ensuring that 75 % of our paper and printed materials come from eco-responsible sources.

    Finally, our carbon footprint is now calculated annually for the entire hotel, and in greater detail for each event and each dish served at our restaurant.

    We aim for every team member to be fully aware of sustainability best practices. Tailored training sessions are delivered annually across departments, and regular meetings keep all employees informed about current and upcoming environmental initiatives.

    We are also deeply committed to social responsibility. Supporting those most in need is part of our values, and we regularly organize voluntary team initiatives such as solidarity lunches, food distributions, and clothing drives in support of local charities.

Since 2024, we have been awarded the Green Key certification in recognition of our sustainable practices.

Awarded after meeting 117 strict environmental and sustainability criteria and renewed annually, this certification recognizes our environmental performance and strengthens our long-term sustainability strategy.
