The Best of Sydney this June

Each winter, Vivid Sydney transforms the city into something truly extraordinary. From 22 May to 13 June 2026, Sydney comes alive with an awe-inspiring program of light, music, ideas, and food that has made it the world's largest festival of its kind.

The centrepiece is the Vivid Light Walk, an unbroken 6.5-kilometre journey along the Sydney Harbour foreshore, where immersive installations, 3D projections, and interactive artworks by acclaimed local and international artists reimagine the city after dark. This year's program reaches new heights with the debut of Vivid Minds, bringing together a remarkable constellation of global visionaries, including filmmaker Chloé Zhao, culinary icon Yotam Ottolenghi, and music tastemaker Zane Lowe.

A highlight of Sydney's cultural calendar, the Sydney Film Festival returns this June with world premieres, acclaimed international releases and thought-provoking documentaries showcased across iconic venues including the State Theatre, Sydney Town Hall and Event Cinemas George Street. From 3–14 June 2026, the festival offers a unique opportunity to experience cinema from around the world in the heart of the city.

For a quintessential Sydney Saturday morning, head to the Carriageworks Farmers Market in Eveleigh, where some of New South Wales' finest growers, producers and makers gather each week. Held every Saturday from 8am–1pm, the market is the perfect place to discover seasonal produce, artisan goods, freshly baked treats and specialty coffee.
