Just a short walk from Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Bastille Festival returns to Circular Quay and The Rocks from 16 to 19 July, bringing the spirit of France to Sydney Harbour. Fête de la Musique at Bar Tilda

Rooted in French culture, Fête de la Musique is a global celebration where music fills streets, cafés and bars. This July, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth brings that tradition to the heart of Sydney with three evenings of live jazz, vinyl DJ sets and French-inspired cocktails.

From 9 to 11 July, enjoy $14 Happy Hour from 4 pm to 7 pm, alongside special Monkey Shoulder cocktails available throughout the festival, all set within the warmth, elegance and conviviality of a Parisian soirée.

NAIDOC Week

From 5 to 12 July, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, honours the enduring legacy of First Nations communities while celebrating the leaders, storytellers and changemakers shaping the future.

Across Sydney, galleries, museums and cultural institutions will host exhibitions, performances, workshops and community events throughout the week. Whether you're exploring First Nations art, attending a cultural experience or taking part in a local event, NAIDOC Week offers a meaningful opportunity to connect with and celebrate the world's oldest continuing living cultures.

Christmas in July

While Christmas falls during the Australian summer, Christmas in July is a much-loved winter tradition inspired by the festive charm of the Northern Hemisphere. Think cosy fireplaces, hearty comfort food, mulled wine and twinkling lights, all without the summer heat.

From 10 to 19 July, The Rocks transforms into a charming European-inspired winter village, complete with festive market stalls, live entertainment, warming food and seasonal treats. Just a short stroll from Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, it's the perfect place to embrace the magic of a winter Christmas in the heart of Sydney.

Bondi Festival

Experience Sydney's iconic beachside suburb in a whole new light as Bondi Festival returns from 3 to 19 July. Celebrating the best of winter by the coast, the annual festival features a vibrant program of live music, theatre, comedy, visual art and family-friendly experiences. Enjoy the much-loved ice rink overlooking Bondi Beach, explore pop-up food and drink offerings, or catch a performance as the neighbourhood comes alive with creativity and community.

Just a short train journey from Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, it's an easy day trip to experience one of Sydney's favourite winter events before returning to the heart of the city. Whether you're spending the day by the ocean or staying into the evening, Bondi Festival is one of Sydney's winter highlights.
