Art & Design Brisbane, Australia
The State Library of Queensland is much more than just a library. Of course its shelves and light, bright reading rooms house an incredible collection of books, journals and magazines, maps, soundtracks, manuscripts and archive documents, as well as rare publications, photographs, videos and online resources. Special mention should be made of the material about Australian artists in among these resources. But as well as the document database, the State Library of Queensland has plenty of surprises in store, with all sorts of exhibitions dedicated to the region’s history and culture, plus an array of unifying events, installations, concerts and workshops. A cultural destination that’s well worth a visit.
