Shopping Washington, United States

Eastern Market

Established in the heart of the historic quarter of Capitol Hill, Eastern Market was Washington’s first market. In 1873, there was already fresh food to be found there, and flowers, crafts, a flea market offering works of art and old books, as well as a host of restaurants. At weekends, local artists and craftsmen display their work, while nearby farms come to sell directly from producer to consumer. You will like this place for a foodie break or for a shopping trip looking for trinkets and souvenirs that are “made in the USA”. To immerse yourself in the “real” Washington, you need to visit the picturesque Eastern Market.
