Brisbane Powerhouse

The suburb of New Farm has its own arty surprise in store: the Brisbane Powerhouse. Nestled on the banks of the Brisbane River, this former power plant was shut down in the 1970s and renovated in 2000 to house a major arts centre. The building hasn’t let go of its spirit, with well-preserved original installations and underground graffiti, plus it now hosts fantastic exhibitions, plays, alternative performances and indie music concerts. End this artistic adventure at the Bar Alto restaurant, overlooking the river.
